THE STATE OF BORDERS – ÜBERQUERUNGEN befasst sich mit Herausforderungen im Umgang mit Menschen, nicht-menschlichen Wesen und der Natur angesichts der globalen Migrationskrise, ökologischen Katastrophen und militärischen Konflikten. Durch eine breite Palette der Formate und Medien sucht das Projekt Antworten auf die Frage: „Ist eine bessere Zukunft möglich? Wenn ja, wie?“
Dank der Zusammenarbeit mit Kolleg*innen aus Polen und dem irakischen Kurdistan wurde die Ausstellung WAITING ROOM zum Teil des Projektes, die den Einfluss der Kriege und politischer Krisen auf das Verständnis von Menschlichkeit erforscht. Zur Eröffnung sprechen wir mit der Kuratorin Jagna Lewandowska und zur Finissage mit der Soziologin und Menschenrechteverteidigerin Katarzyna Czarnota und dem Künstler und Fotographen Shamal Hisamadin über die Ausstellung und aktuelle Lage der Migrationsprozesse.
Workshops und der Kurzfilmabend in Zusammenarbeit mit dem BuWa-Kollektiv werfen einen Blick auf die Klimagerechtigkeit aus queeren Perspektiven. In der Klangperformace AND WHO ARE WE NOW? reflektiert Nour Sokhon Erfahrungen der Migration und Flucht. Der Film LANDEN von Vanessa Nica Mueller schaut auf die Geschichte des ökonomischen Zusammenbruchs und der politischen Instabilität in Libanon durch ein Herbarium.
THE STATE OF BORDERS - ÜBERQUERUNGEN deals with challenges in relation to humans, non-human beings and nature in the face of the global migration crisis, ecological disasters and military conflicts. Through a wide range of formats and media, the project is looking for answers to the question: Is a better future possible? If so, how?”
Thanks to the cooperation with colleagues from Poland and Iraqi Kurdistan, the exhibition WAITING ROOM became part of the project, which explores the influence of wars and political crises on the understanding of humanity. Here we talk to curator Jagna Lewandowska at the opening and to sociologist and human rights defender Katarzyna Czarnota as well as fotographer Shamal Hisamadin at the finissage about the exhibition and the current situation of migration processes.
Workshops and a short film evening in collaboration with the BuWa-Kollektiv will take a look at climate justice from a queer perspective. In the sound performance AND WHO WARE WE NOW?, Nour Sokhon reflects on experiences of migration and displacement. The film LANDEN by Vanessa Nica Mueller looks at the history of economic collapse and political instability in Lebanon through a herbarium.
