Kunst kommt aus dem Schnabel wie er gewachsen ist

Der zweitschönste Film der Berlinale 2020! (Oder doch der schönste?). „Kunst kommt aus dem Schnabel, wie er gewachsen ist. Kunst wirkt entgiftend. Kunst heißt der Hahn.”, schreibt Suzy van Zehlendorf auf die Frage, was für sie Kunst ist. Sie ist eine von 16 Künstler*innen, die in der Spandauer Kunstwerkstatt für Menschen mit Behinderung ihrer Lohnarbeit nachgehen. Viele von ihnen sind mittlerweile bekannt. Kunst zu machen ist hier eine gleichberechtigte Arbeit, und die Aufgabe der Mitarbeiter*innen ist es, assistierend zur Seite zu stehen. Ein humorvoller Film, der beiläufig zeigt, wie Behinderung und Ermöglichung eine große Freiheit schaffen.

The second most beautiful film of the Berlinale 2020! (Or probably the most beautiful!). “Art comes from the beak the way it has grown. Art has a detoxifying effect. Art is the name of the rooster.”, is Suzy van Zehlendorfs answer when asked what art is for her. She is one of 16 artists whose paid job it is to make art at the Spandau art workshop for people with disabilities –  many of whom are now famous. Making art is considered equal work there, and the task of the employees is to provide assistance. A humorous film that casually shows how disability and enabling can create great freedom.
